Internet Resources

Internet Resources
by Andria Brown

For meeting cool folks:
Chicklit (www.chicklit.com): for women who love words

You Are Still Here (http://pub20.ezboard.com/byouarestillhere): the feminist is still in there somewhere, possibly under the pile of diapers

Tomatonation (www.tomatonation.com): not a message board, but you’ll feel like you have a friend in Sars

For mama-wanna-bes:
Taking Charge of Your Fertility (www.tcoyf.com): the online resource for readers of Toni Weschler’s invaluable book

Fertility Friend (www.fertilityfriend.com): great free software for charting ovulation and getting help with the charting process

SoulCysters (www.soulcysters.com): unflagging support and useful resources for women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

For mamas-in-waiting:
WishWorld (www.wishworld.com): a registry service that lets you choose a huge variety of items from over 100 different websites, many of which are run by work-at-home mamas

Baby Center (www.babycenter.com): they probably sold my address to every baby product company in the country, but the weekly fetal development updates are pretty neat

Japanese Weekend (www.japaneseweekend.com): I can’t actually afford any of their maternity clothes, but just looking at the hip pregnant chicks makes me feel sassier

For mamas (and papas):
HipMama (www.hipmama.com): better than a double prozac latte

Mothering (www.mothering.com): online version of the natural family living magazine

Ask Dr. Sears (www.askdrsears.com): extremely practical and useful info on parenting
